Petition to Combine the PGC and PFBC law enforcement
components within the Pennsylvania State Police |
We, the undersigned citizens of the great state of Pennsylvania, petition our
elected officials to remove the law enforcement components of the PA Game
Commission and Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and place them within the
Pennsylvania State Police. We further believe the current training of PGC and
PFBC law enforcement personnel is antiquated and inadequate to properly address
illegal game and fish violations while honoring the precious civil rights of our
citizenry. We contend there has been a pattern of civil rights violations
against our people, which often results in civil rights lawsuits against the
Agency.
It is our belief that oversight and accountability by the management of PGC and
PFBC is greatly lacking permitting law enforcement’s violations of our civil
rights to worsen with each passing year. Considering it is highly improbable
that either Agency will take the necessary actions to reform itself, we see no
better or faster method of ending the abuses against our citizens than to
incorporate the PGC and PFBC law enforcement personnel within the framework of
the Pennsylvania State Police.
